In the first month of the third quarter, China’s textile and garment exports continued to maintain rapid growth

        Textile and garment exports continued to climb in July, driven by the expansion of external demand and rising prices, the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles revealed Wednesday. In dollar terms, China’s textile and apparel exports continued to grow in July on the basis of the previous month, with clothing exports increasing by 18.5% year-on-year and 8.8% month-on-month.

        Exports of textiles and apparel in RMB: From January to July 2022, China’s total exports of textiles and apparel reached 1,228.99 billion yuan, up 12.7% compared with the same period last year (the same below), among which textile exports reached 581.45 billion yuan, up 11.9%, and garment exports reached 647.54 billion yuan, up 13.5%.

        In July, China’s textile and apparel exports reached 224.12 billion yuan, up 23.6% or 6.5% from the previous month. Among them, textile exports reached 91.64 billion yuan, up 22.1% or 1.8% from the previous month, and clothing exports reached 132.48 billion yuan, up 24.6% or 10% from the previous month.

        Exports of textiles and clothing measured in US dollars: From January to July 2022, China’s total exports of textiles and clothing reached US $189.35 billion, up 12.4 percent, of which textile exports reached US $89.8 billion, up 11.9 percent, and clothing exports reached US $99.56 billion, up 12.9 percent.

        In July, China’s textile and apparel exports reached US $33.222 billion, up by 17.5 percent or 5.3 percent month on month. Among them, textile exports reached US $13.584 billion, up by 16.2 percent or 0.6 percent month on month, and garment exports reached US $19.638 billion, up by 18.5 percent or 8.8 percent month on month.
