About preventing Canada send ill sex avian flu high to the announcement of our country

  On February 5, 2022, Canada reported to the world organization for animal health (OIE) that a highly pathogenic avian influenza of H5N1 subtype occurred in a turkey farm in Canada on January 30. In order to protect the safety of China’s animal husbandry and prevent the introduction of the epidemic, in accordance with the provisions of the Customs Law of the people’s Republic of China, the law of the people’s Republic of China on entry and exit animal and plant quarantine and its implementation regulations and other relevant laws and regulations, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas of the General Administration of Customs issued the following announcement:

  I. It is prohibited to directly or indirectly import poultry and its related products from Canada (products originating from unprocessed poultry or processed poultry that may still spread epidemic diseases), stop issuing the entry animal and Plant Quarantine License for importing poultry and its related products from Canada, and revoke the entry animal and plant quarantine license that has been signed and issued within the validity period.

  II. All poultry and related products from Canada shipped from February 21, 2022 will be returned or destroyed. Poultry and related products from Canada shipped before February 21, 2022 shall be subject to enhanced quarantine and can only be released after passing the quarantine。

  III. It is prohibited to post, deliver or bring poultry and its products from Canada into the country. Once found, they will be returned or destroyed.

  IV. Animal and plant wastes, swill, etc. unloaded from inbound ships, aircraft and other means of transport from Canada shall be treated for disinfection under the supervision of the customs and shall not be discarded without authorization.

  V. All illegally imported poultry and their products from Canada intercepted by border defense departments shall be destroyed under the supervision of the customs.

  VI. Any violation of the above provisions shall be dealt with by the customs in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Customs Law of the people’s Republic of China, the law of the people’s Republic of China on entry and exit animal and plant quarantine and its implementation regulations.
